For a while now, I have been thinking about how I can give back with DLK Designs.  I knew, without a doubt, that I wanted to give back within my local geographical area.  With so many organizations out there it was definitely a challenge to narrow it all down and find one that means so much to me and my family.Â
Living within a few miles of the ocean for my entire life, I treasure the peace it has brought to me and countless others. Â I also know that the sea creatures need our help and if we do not take care of our seas all life on Earth is impacted. Â It matters.
After much consideration, I decided to give a portion of our proceeds to Sea To Shore Alliance.  I had many signs from the universe while in the decision-making process.  We spend a lot of time visiting New Smyrna Beach, with its pristine beautiful beaches, and we love visiting our national parks. During one of our visits, we decided to drive just a few miles south to Canaveral National Seashore.  The first thing I noticed upon our arrival on the actual beach was trash.  Everywhere.  Trash.  So much so that we got a trash bag from the visitors center and my family picked up an entire bag load of trash.  My girls, husband and I were kinda in shock.  We are used to going to beaches where there is trash patrol and you rarely see loads of trash just washed ashore.  For my sweet 12-year-old, she felt an overwhelming sadness, she knows this is not good for all the life in our oceans and ultimately bad for us humans.  We have to take care of our planet.
This business is a dream come true of mine and a true blessing to my family.  The fact that I can give back to something so crucial with your support, is just the cherry on top.  Thank you.
